About a third of the way into the book I started to enjoy it but the religious tie ins were burdensome even if they were informative.

I felt very strongly that Angelopolis needed to be both a continuation and a story that a reader could pick up and simply enjoy without having read Angelology.
In this book the world is widely populated by differing angelic sects but she does not explain how this occurred when in her first book these angels tried to mask their existence and she left no references to how populated they were and openly hostile to people.
